OnePlus 3 & OnePlus 3T have now finally received Face unlock feature that had been released since last December. Along with these updates for the 2016 Models, OnePlus has also released new beta versions for OnePlus 5 & OnePlus 5T.
OxygenOS open beta 30 has been developed for OnePlus 3 and OxyGenOS beta 21 for OnePlus 5T and both the new updates/versions include face unlock feature , the face unlock feature also allows user to unlock their smartphone by using their faces. It is also noted that OnePlus face unlock feature is designed to offer experience to the user & is similar to Apple’s face ID.
Despite of Face Unlock feature this update also brought Airtel VOLTE support to OnePlus 3 & 3T. The latest Open Beta version also include various bug fixes and the optimisations.
For OnePlus 5 & 5T company has released OxygenOS Open Beta 4 & 2 respectively. The new versions have the features to manage high-power consumption applications, intelligent background application management, and this version will also improve battery consumption and various bugs are fixed.
Despite some of these new features and advancements, the new OxygenOS Open Beta versions are still meant only for the testing purposes. As per OnePlus’ official records, the newest Open Beta builds have some conflicts with the third-party camera apps. The company also warns the users that the new builds are not as stable as the official OTAs generally are. Therefore, you should proceed only if you are ready to accept the potential risks just for the sake of testing the new features.
You can install the OxygenOS Open Beta versions on your OnePlus devices just by flashing the respective builds into your respective smartphone. It is recommended to back-up your data first as all the stored data will be lost during this flashing process. OnePlus has provided its flashing guides to help you easily install the new version on your smartphone. Moreover, the new ROM versions are also available for download from the OnePlus site.
